A psychoanalysis office in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. Ariane, a young surgeon, has been Philippe Dayan's patient for a year. After the attacks, she found herself on the front line at the hospital and spent a nightmarish weekend. However, today, she is not just here for that: she finally feels ready to share a dark secret with her therapist...

Dayan receives a new patient: Adel Chibane, police officer at the BRI. Adel was in the intervention team that entered the Bataclan on the evening of November 13. Since then, he has had symptoms of stress that he cannot explain. He makes contact with Dayan, full of reservations and mistrust.

Camille, 16, is a young high-level swimmer who is training for the Olympic Games. She comes to Dayan's office following a bicycle accident, both arms in plaster. Her insurance requires a psychological assessment attesting that she is in no way responsible for what happened to her.

Dayan is not an expert in couples therapy, but he agreed to see Damien and Léonora, who have lived together for ten years. Recently, Léonora became pregnant even though the couple had given up on having a second child. The crisis they are going through seems insurmountable. They expect Dayan to help them make a decision about this unborn child... or to make it for them.

Dayan rings the doorbell of Esther's office, a former friend and widow of his mentor. She was also his analyst and his controller, but Dayan has not seen her since the day when, in the middle of a session, he slammed the door. But today he is ready to forget old quarrels, desperate to find a new balance in his practice.

After hesitating for a long time, Ariane finally accepted the marriage proposal from her partner Cédric. Dayan, who cannot help but be disturbed, invites him to explore the reasons for this sudden reversal.

Adel came back. But even though he has learned about Dayan's skills, he proves resistant to the principles of therapy. He wants to control everything, and yet the anxieties are there. Dayan tries little by little to gain his trust and find how to reassure him.

Camille is on edge. She wants Dayan to write his report as soon as possible. Dayan makes her talk about her divorced parents, and her swimming coach with whom she has a special relationship.

After the tensions of the previous session, Damien and Léonora have found a certain complicity. They have decided to take some time for themselves and stop therapy. But an unforeseen event will shake up the order of things...

Philippe has had an argument with his wife Charlotte, who has confessed to him that she has a lover. Esther takes note, and directs him to a subject that he seems to want to minimize: the ambiguity of his relationship with his patient Ariane.

Ariane arrives late because of a cat story, an excuse that Dayan doubts: is it to hide her resentment for having been rejected during the last session? On leaving their appointment, Ariane has a surprising encounter...

With an unusually cheerful air, Adel tells Dayan about his meeting with Ariane and takes the opportunity to ask him what he thinks of her. Inviting him to make the connection between his dysfunctional relationship and that of his parents, Dayan brings him back to his own torments. Troubled, the policeman tells him about a photo found at his father's house.

Camille seems worried that this third session will put an end to her meetings with Dayan. She mentions her parents' divorce and then makes important revelations about her relationship with Nicolas, her coach. Dayan still refuses to comment on whether or not his accident was premeditated, which annoys the young girl.

Léonora shows up alone at the session. Dayan doesn't want to welcome her without her husband, but he still listens to her confide in her miscarriage. Damien, furious, finally arrives and violently takes Léonora to task. Shortly after, Charlotte, Dayan's wife, makes him an announcement that he doesn't like...

Dayan is grumpy, he has rather intimate medical problems. In bad faith, he accuses Esther of having given him bad advice in the management of Ariane's transfer. The latter points out to him that he was not obliged to follow her recommendations. Ariane may have awakened an old wound in him, which would go beyond the simple issue of desire and adultery.

After a disturbing daydream, a hurt Dayan listens to Ariane tell him about her evening with Adel. The announcement of her breakup with Cédric creates a moment of complicity between them, which leads the psychoanalyst to confide part of his story to his patient. But Ariane receives a phone call that abruptly ends their peaceful exchange.

Imagining Dayan's income, Adel is outraged by the modesty of his own salary, which he considers derisory in view of the risks of his job. After a very violent training session, his anxieties reappeared during his evening with Ariane. Dayan thinks that Ariane is only a distraction for Adel, who takes him away from the real problem. He is determined to understand what the photo found at his father's house crystallizes in him.

Camille arrives at the meeting free of her casts, but exhausted from her night out the night before. At a party, she let herself be seduced by a water polo player and it left a bitter taste in her mouth. Unable to fall asleep, she remembered her accident and tells Dayan. He then discovers what she was hiding from him.

Leonora reproaches Damien for leaving their son Robin alone at home, but they find their complicity again and remember their meeting. Until Damien accuses Leonora of cheating on him. Then begins a new, violent argument, which marks a decisive turning point in their therapy.

Dayan tells Esther about his week. When he questions the ban on sexual relations between analyst and analysand, she gets violently carried away. Touched, Dayan reproaches him for not engaging emotionally with his patients, unlike him.

Ariane almost lost a 15-year-old patient, injured during the Bataclan attacks. Upset, she looks back on her own adolescence and makes important revelations about Serge, her father's friend who spent a summer with them at the time. Ariane, obsessed with Dayan and convinced that she has endangered her patient's life, sees no other solution than to stop the therapy.

Adel immediately announces that he has broken up with Ariane, convinced that she is being manipulated by Dayan. In a fit of anger, he also reveals to the analyst everything he has discovered about him: his daughter, his father in a nursing home, his wife who is cheating on him... Dayan manages to calm him down and tries to help him remember Algeria.

Angry, Camille arrives at the office with her mother, whom she is trying to get rid of. The conversation with Dayan quickly turns to her father and the supposed connection that unites them. The latter made his daughter carry a heavy secret, which she has not digested...

Leonora is alone. She accuses Dayan of having made Damien change his behavior. He has become too tender and kind for her taste, which pushes her into the arms of her lover. Dayan, by questioning Leonora about her childhood, finds explanations for his self-destructive behavior.

Dayan and his wife arrive together at Esther's. He tries to explain why he can't forgive Charlotte for his infidelity, but Esther calls him to order: he too has desire for another woman. Charlotte, jealous and exhausted by her husband's endless analyses, cuts the session short.

Ariane returns. She followed Dayan's advice and told her father about the behavior of Serge, the family friend, during her adolescence. Suddenly, Dayan confesses his feelings to her but Ariane wonders if it is an analyst's strategy...

Adel, finally back, finally finds the courage to tell the traumatic event he experienced in Algeria when he was a child. As he makes considerable progress in his therapy, he is about to make a decision whose self-destructive nature is clear to Dayan, who tries to warn him.

At Dayan's, Camille collapses. She canceled her visit to her father in Brussels, had a very bad performance during a training session and can't talk to her mother. Dayan calms her down and convinces her that she is angry with the wrong person. More serene, she joins her mother with whom she rediscovers a certain complicity.

Damien arrives alone and relaxed, ready to do anything to save his relationship. Léonora, who was on the phone, joins the discussion and confesses her adultery. Damien's reaction is surprising. Léonora starts talking about her father's death, for which she feels responsible.

Following a death that upsets him, Dayan goes to the funeral. There he finds Ariane and confides in her his feelings of guilt. There he meets the deceased's relatives, including his father, who, in his dismay, mistakes Ariane for Dayan's partner.

Liza, Dayan's daughter, is waiting for her father in his office: she is angry with him, aware of the tensions between her parents. The conversation is interrupted by Mohammed Chibane, Adel's father, who comes to try to understand what pushed his son to seek help. The conversation takes an accusatory turn...

At his controller's office, Dayan immediately talks about Adel's father's visit to his office and his guilt, idealizes this patient who has become a hero in his eyes, then he feels unwell. Once he comes to, Dayan attacks Esther until she loses her footing...

Camille's father is waiting for her outside Dayan's office. Cold, she pushes him away but he finally insists on attending the session, where he tries to prove that he is a good father. Camille expresses her anger at feeling abandoned.

Arriving alone, Damien explains to Dayan that they have decided with Léonora to separate and to end their therapy. Léonora, who joins them, emphasizes that she considers it a failure. Dayan tries to calm the situation.

Dayan goes to Ariane. He confesses his feelings to her again, feels ready to live a story with her. Later, at Esther's, devastated, he tells what happened between him and his patient.
