Susan Calman's Summer By the Sea

The comedian continues her trip around the UK visiting seaside resorts. In the third episode, Susan reaches her next destination, St Ives. Here, she meets Gyles Brandreth, who discusses his personal connection to the famous resort.

The comedian visits Southend-on-Sea in Essex, home to the world's largest pleasure pier and the famous narrow-gauge railway. Susan also creates her own ice-cream sundae, takes part in a training exercise with a local lifeboat crew, and talks to Birds of a Feather star Linda Robson about why she has been coming to the town since she was a child.

The comedian finds Blackpool has not one but three piers to choose from - and on its North Pier she is introduced to the legendary sounds of the seaside. The town keeps on giving as she spots a metal detectorist searching for history on the beach and takes her chance to become a treasure hunter. Then, there's a sneak peek inside a distinctive seafront B&B where originality is the order of the day. Plus, she is reunited with her Strictly Come Dancing partner Kevin Clifton.
